Author Guidelines

The submission and typesetting of Fundamenta Informaticae is fully electronic. Authors are requested to prepare manuscripts in PDF format and submit it using the FI online submission system.

  • It is highly recommended that papers exceeding reasonable length (of about 20-30 pages) be split into two or more articles.
  • The text is single-spaced; single-column; uses a 11 or 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The Fundamenta Informaticae is typeset using  LaTeX2E. Upon acceptance of the paper the (principal) author will receive the FI LaTeX2E style file (by e-mail) and will be asked to submit the final formatted version with all source files to the Editorial Office using online submission system.
  • The Fundamenta Informaticae is printed in black and white (grayscale). Therefore all figures (graphs and illustrations) have to be prepared in such a way, that they are readable when converted to grayscale.
  • Authors wishing to format the paper in the FI style before submission may download style files from this page or apply for the style file to fundam@mimuw.edu.pl. The style bundle contains the styles for the article and the bibliography (Vancouver style) as well as example of formatted document.
  • The abstract of submitted paper is in plain text or simple LaTeX format. It may contain very simple formulas, but must not use compund LaTeX formulas cross-references and bibliography citations.
  • Authors are requested to use the Vancouver citation style. Place citations as numbers in square brackets in the text. All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references at the end of the manuscript. List the references in the order in which they appear in the text. Only articles published or accepted for publication should be listed in the reference list. Submitted articles can be listed as (author(s), unpublished data). If an article has a DOI, this should be provided after the page number details. The number is added after the letters 'doi'. Manuscripts will not be considered if they do not conform to the Vancouver citation guidelines.
  • At the time of submission the Authors can suggest 1-3 members of the Editorial Board (Editors) who, in their opinion, are most suitable to overview the review process of this submission.
  • No page charge is made.
